Just installed Snow Leopard yesterday and the performance of Flash Player in the browser it atrocious!
I’ve made a quick graphic to show the differences between various machines running Safari (various versions). Hopefully we’ll have a fix soon!
UPDATE: This is only within the Safari Browser, It works great in Firefox!
A few days ago the fantasticly talented Ed Watt (@designed) posted up a link on Twitter to the Clock Clock project by those crazy Swedes Humans since 1982… Anyway, I decided to have a go at recreating it in AS3 just for the hell of it…
Here’s the example, and here’s the source (it’s pretty bad, just thrown together but it works)…

I need to get round to putting some more stuff up on here, been so busy recently… I’ve got an as2 xml/php admin I want to release but I’m still trying to find time to iron out the bugs… If anyone wants to look over it for me send me an email…

Don’t ask me why I was on the microsoft site… I know, I’m ashamed. But what the feck is this all about? Going a bit far don’t ya think ?
EDIT: Just looked back over the picture - just to clarify; it’s not the word ‘eliminate’ that I’m pointing out, it’s the over-dramatisation of the sentence used.
Just found something that could turn out to be quite useful!
From the authors site..
“Falcon was created in a sudden realization that it was a fair number of steps to access a server script in Flash and probably a custom class would be helpful. Now it can be done in three steps. Import Falcon, make an instance of the class and set an event for when the data is loaded.”

Just bought Selkirk’s finest Frightened Rabbit’s ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’ - and by goodness, it’s a wee work of art! - 14 tracks of lush, daydream beauty… the kind of album that reminds you of having a picnic under a big oak tree on a bright cloudless summers day. I honestly feel as though this might be on continuous loop for a while.
